Description
INTENT TO SOLICIT NOTICE FOR FBO NAICS CODE: 332911 “Industrial Valve Manufacturing” The U.S. Forest Service intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Chemline Plastics Limited for the purchase of eighty (80) replacement check valves for the eight (8) legacy MAFFS Systems used in the U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft used for the combat of wildfires. The valves are an integral component in the modular airborne firefighting system (MAFFS) that allows the system to split the retardant load between drops. Chemline Plastics Limited is the original manufacturer of the check valves used in the MAFFS. As the original manufacturer, Chemline Plastics Limited is uniquely qualified as they designed, manufactured, and currently support these check valves. Chemline Plastics Limited’s check valve is a replacement of the aluminum check valve, as the aluminum check valve is no longer manufactured. This “Notice of Intent” is not a request for competitive proposals. A solicitation is not available and telephone requests will not be honored. If a firm believes that they are capable of meeting all of the requirements, the firm must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and/or services, to the Contracting Officer (CO) within seven (7) calendar days from the publication date of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability of a firm to comply with all of the above requirements. Information should be sent to the following address: U.S. Forest Service Contracting National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) 3833 South Development Avenue Attn: Mrs. Bridgit Downing, Contracting Officer Boise, Idaho 83705 Responses that are received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the U.S. Forest Service will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Chemline Plastics Limited.
