Description
RECOVERY--The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to replace log boom logs and wire rope at North Hartland Lake, North Hartland, Vermont. The work includes removing and disposing of off site 1,700 linear feet of the existing deteriorated 1 diameter galvanized steel wire rope and removing and legally disposing of twenty (20) deteriorated 20 long existing wood log boom logs. The log boom logs vary in diameter from 14 to 20. The log boom logs have been treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) or equivalent and must be disposed of in accordance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. The existing miscellaneous associated hardware connecting the existing twenty (20) deteriorated logs to the log boom cable shall be removed and disposed of off site by the contractor. This miscellaneous hardware includes a diameter steel ring of 3-1/2 inside diameter, x 1-1/2 x 6 steel toggle, and diameter chain 5-6 long by American Chain Co. style B. Furnish and install twenty (20) pressure treated log boom logs (either Eastern White Pine or White Spruce) and 1,700 linear feet of 1 diameter 6 x19 class IPS IWRC galvanized steel wire rope cable with new hardware. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation will be available on or about 3 September 2009 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) which links to the FedTeds website (see below). Prospective contractors are required to self register their firm on the Internet to receive this solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the internet at https://www.fedteds.gov. Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests will be accepted. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is a 100% set aside for Small Business. The applicable NAICS code is 237990 with a Small Business Size Standard of $33,500,000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.
