- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition and Logistics, Technology Acquisition Center intends to enter into a twelve-month Firm-Fixed-Price contract with Duke University, Division of Clinical Informatics (DCI); Department of Community and Family Medicine; Duke University Medical Center, 318 Hanes House; DUMC 2914; Durham, NC 27710 pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements", for the development of two functional Infobutton Manager prototypes which support current and future versions of the Health Level-7 (HL-7) Infobutton Standard which will enhance the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) Decision Support. DCI is nationally recognized for its expertise in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of scalable and widely deployable Clinical Decision Support (CDS) interventions. Leading in the development of international CDS standards, including the HL7 Infobutton Standard and the HL7 Decision Support Services Standard, DCI is the lead architect of an Infobutton Manager deployed at a prominent health care organization. Additionally, DCI is leading the effort to develop HL7 Infobutton Standard Release 2. Therefore, DCI is only entity capable of providing the Government with working prototypes for both the current and planned release of the HL7 Infobutton. The solicitation number assigned to this effort is VA-118-09-RP-0018 and will be issued on or about 21 August 2009. An award date of no later than 30 September 2009 is desired. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however all responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS Code/Size is 541690/$7M. This purchase is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
