Description

USDA, ARS, LSO intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Microfluidics Corp., 30 Ossipee Rd., Newton, MA 0264-9101 to purchase a laboratory fluidizer. The fluidizer is needed to generate submicron emulsions from small volumes of materials. Typical volumes processed will be 25 mL or less of material and it is expected to recovery at least 50% of this volume after processing. The fluidizer should have the ability to recycle material to allow multiple passes to be performed on a single sample volume. The fluidizer should be able to generate 20,000 psi and may be operated by compressed air. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 7 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with Micfluidics Corp. without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is August 27th 2009.
