Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), plans to procure on a sole source basis with Ortaldo Consulting; 210 Islamorada Lane; Naples Florida 34114, for support for the immunological based ongoing studies regarding tumor immunity, innate immunity, biological response modification and translational preclinical studies. The supplies and services herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Part 13.106-1 (b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541711 and the business size standard is $7M. NCI requires the services of an experienced immunologist in the areas of tumor immunity, innate immunity, biological response modification, flow cytometry and translational preclinical studies. The Immunologist will provide services to support and improve the immunological based ongoing research within the NCI. In addition, contractor shall provide information and recommendations on experimental design, alternative solutions and methodologies utilized in planned protocols, analyses and evaluation of experimental data, and new suggested recommendations regarding research directions and priorities of ongoing studies, training and technical expertise. Period of Performance shall be from award through 12 months with one option period. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. Dr. John Ortaldo of Ortaldo Consulting is a world-class immunologist with extensive experience and knowledge in immunology. Dr. Ortaldo is an international expert in cellular immunology, tumor immunology and one of the leading experts in natural killer cells and innate immunity and its interactions with adaptive responses. Dr. Ortaldo is familiar with the NCI’s cancer programs that comprise the Center for Cancer Research. Dr. Ortaldo’s specific expertise is documented by his over four-hundred (400) publications in innate and adaptive immunity and his international recognition for outstanding research. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can perform the requirement. Contractor shall provide one (1) original and one (1) copy of the capability statement. Capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 11:00 AM ET, on August 28, 2009. It is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure all questions have been received in the contracting office. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted. No faxed or emailed capability statements will be accepted. In order to receive an award, contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA).
