- Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering (RDEC) Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division (NDC), Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the U. S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a Contract on a sole source basis with Cadex Inc.., 755 AVENUE MONTRICHARD, INDUSTRIEL PARC IBERVILLE, SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC J2X 5KB, CANADA. This will be for the purchase of ten (10) 14 Folding Climbing Hook. This award will also include the option of 45 additional hooks to support additional operational testing. The 14 hook is manufactured by Cadex Inc is made of stainless steel, has adjustable points of contact that distribute the load pressure over the wall/structure reducing the likelihood of failure. The hook also extends from a minimum 10 to a maximum 14. The 10 configuration has 2 angle settings and the 14 configuration has 6 angle settings. The adjustable points of contact allow for maximum weight distribution over uneven surfaces. Cadex is the only manufacturer of a hook with this capability that interfaces with existing urban climbing system components. This item is being procured in support of a combat evaluation under USSOCOM Directive 70-1, Appendix C.Any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements, yet must be limited to 2 pages. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, NCD will proceed with awarding a firm fixed price purchase order to Cadex Inc. Nothing herein should be misconstrued as a request for proposal.
