- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement for the replacement of three (3) single-zone heating ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) units for the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), General Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. SCOPE: Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, permits, and transportation required to perform the work. Work includes but not limited to the following: 1. Furnish and install one new split HVAC unit (AHU-1) on sub-junction level for equipment room as shown on the drawing.2. Furnish and install two new split HVAC units (AHU-2, 3) on junction level for cab as shown on the drawing.3. The main control panel must include a disconnect switch mounted in a weatherproof service enclosure on the side or the end of the units. All components shall be identified with nametags and wired in accordance with the NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code.4. Unit AHU-1 will be set on the floor with a drip pan and drain into the nearby pipe chase.5. Replace (3) condensing units with new located on grating, one floor below sub-junction level.6. Replace existing suction and liquid pipe lines with new pipe lines, insulated as recommended by the manufacturer. Piping to AHU-1 will be approximately 20' whereas to AHU-2, 3 about 40' from the condensing unit. Route the piping through the chase as much as possible. Some hole(s) may be required in the tower wall made of 7" thick GWB and preformed insulated concrete panel.7. All units will have economizer with enthalpy control. This will require some modification to the existing ductwork.8. Air balance the systems.9. Provide as built drawings and manuals.10. Provide professional duct cleaning for the existing system.11. Clean and dispose of any trash on a daily basis.12. Replace cab units (AHU-2 & 3) one at a time so that one unit is always operational. The estimated price range is between $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. VERBAL REQUESTS FOR THE SIR WILL NOT BE HONORED. The contractor awarded the contract must have active registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.ccr.gov NAICS Code is 238220 Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and certified 8(a) contractors are highly encouraged to submit a request for this project. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
