- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with the Leica MICROSYSTEMS INC. The requirements entails a tissue sectioning device Leica VT 1000P-Professional and maintenace. This equipment is used to cut non-frozen, non-embedded tissue of specific dimensions to support ongoing and future research activities. We are requesting a quantity of one product each. This contract shall be issued using other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Leica is uniquely qualified to provide this product because Leica is the only manufacturer of this medical instrument product(s). There are no other resources. This is not a request for competitive proposals but parties purporting to have the requisite credentials to supply the product(s) must finish in writing, factual information, which clearly supports and demonstrates evidence of such abilities. This information must be faxed to Jonathan Williams (301)619-9656 by 28 August 2009 NLT 1600 hrs EST. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on any responses from this notice is soley within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
