Description
This is a combined synopsis / solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This procurement is not a small business set-aside; any responsible source may submit an offer. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number M67400-09-T-0303 applies and is issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-34 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. The NAICS code is 333999.The agency need is for: CLIN 0001: Quantity: 1, Unit of Issue: Each, DESCRIPTION: Can Densifier with in feed conveyor and hopper and magnetic head pulley. Mfg:Dens A Can, Mfg#:DAC 1200,"Brand name " or "equal" * Electrical data.208 volts, 3 phase, 60 Hz * Dimensions, size, or capacity.Process at least 500 kg/hour (1100 lb/hr) of aluminum cans. Process at least 1000 kg/hour (2200 lb/hr) of steel cans. Hopper shall be at least 100 inches (2.5 meters) wide. The hopper shall havea volume of at least 4 cubic yards (3 cubic meters). Exit point of cans frommagnetic separator shall be at least 60 inches (1.5meters) above the floor. * Principles of operation.Crush cans with a ram into stackable blocks weighing between 10 kg and 50.0kg (22 lb and 110 lb) depending on material densified.The density of aluminum blocks shall be at least 650 kg/m3 (40 lb/cf) and the density of steel blocks shall be at least 800 kg/m3 (50 lb/cf).Equipment shall be fully automatic with manual overrides.a.Include all sensors and controls as required to produce a block without user intervention once the hopper is loaded and the equipment is turned on. b.Automatically shut-off when empty. c.Provide thermal protection of all motors and hydraulic system. d.Provide all safety equipment as required to meet OSHA requirements. Equipment shall include a magnetic separator to remove steel cans Include a hopper and conveyor to accept totes of cans and feed them to the densifier. * Restrictive environmental conditions.Suitable for indoor use in an industrial building. Meet all OSHA requirements for safety including guards around rotating parts and no exposed wiring. * Intended useCrush and densify food or beverage containers into stackable blocks.The equipment shall provided is to act as stand alone and is to be a complete and usable package with all required conveyors, hopper, steel separator, controls etc as required for a complete and usable product which will accept cans from a steel tote and densify them into stackable blocks without user intervention other than putting the material into the hopper and removing the blocks. Equipment shall accept full containers of liquid such as soda in aluminum cans. The contractor shall provide English operation manual.The contractor shall provide descriptive literature for any equal offered items in order to determine acceptability.
