Description
This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because there is only one responsible source due to a unique capability provided, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (FAR 6.302-1). See posted J&A for further information. RECOVERY WORK PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: RLI-01 INVASIVE VEGETATION CONTROL FEDERAL NAVIGATION PROJECT COMPREHENSIVE RECOVERY LINE ITEM (ACQUISITION DESCRIPTION): Complete aquatic plant management on Lake Okeechobee due to increased plant growth as well as an influx of plants from increased water levels. SOLICITATION NUMBER: W912EP09C0005P00004 DESCRIPTION: RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CURRENT CONTRACTOR. W912EP-09-C-0005-P00004 - This contract was not awarded as a fixed price type because uncertainties involved in contract performance did not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost-reimbursement type action was awarded (FAR 16.301.2) Work includes and increase to aquatic plant management on Lake Okeechobee due to increased plant growth as well as an influx of plants from increased water levels. The additional funding is based on the amount per week we are spending to conduct treatments of floating vegetation (water hyacinth and water lettuce) on Lake Okeechobee and the Okeechobee Waterway. We are spending approximately $25,000 per week and we have 7 weeks remaining to conduct treatments.
