Description
RECOVERY - Automated DN/RNA/Protein Purification System. This is a market research/sources sought notice. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotation and the Government is not committed to award a contract pursuant to this notice. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition; (3) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; woman-owned small business; small disadvantaged businesses. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a requirement for an Automated DN/RNA/Protein Purification System. The system (1) shall have the ability to simultaneously mechanically grind animal tissue, blood cells, eukaryotic culture cells, gram negative, or gram positive bacteria in conjunction with chemical disruption with lysis buffer; (2) shall incorporate automated processing of 1 to 16 samples per instrument purification in 30-40 minutes or better; (3) shall incorporate heated elution to improve yields; (4) shall incorporate pre-filled reagent cartridges; (5) shall incorporate walk-away automated processing from sample addition to recovery of purified material; (6) shall incorporate pre-loaded protocols to reduce set-up time; (7) shall include firmware upgrades for updated protocols and new applications at no additional cost to the Government; (8) shall incorporate fully licensed technology of nucleic acid purification by silica and of polyhistidine-tagged protein purification by Magnel-lis TM Ni-Particles; (9) shall incorporate flexibility to use instrument to purify from broad range of biologic sample types; (10) shall incorporate uptime guarantee option. This is a market research/sources sought and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research/sources sought. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this market research/sources sought.
