- AF/INDUSTRY AIR ARMAMENT TECHNOLOGY INTERCHANGE WORKSHOP FOR INDEPENDENT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (IR&D). The Air Armament Center (AAC) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) plan to conduct an air munitions technology interchange workshop on 15 17 September 2009 at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Ft Walton Beach FL 32548, Phone: 850-609-3800, Fax: 850-609-5095. In planning and executing this segment of the AF IR&D framework, AFRL facilitates these workshops between the AF acquisitioner in AAC, the AF developer in AFRL and our Industry partners. Fostering the two-way communication provides better insight into what the AF is doing to meet the warfighter needs and what Industry is doing with their IR&D initiatives. This specific workshop in September 2009 is slated to be a Step 1 event, whereby AAC and AFRL present the latest AF armament technology needs and related AFRL development efforts to meet those needs to our industry partners. In this Step 1 activity, if there is a technology gap anticipated for a specific need, the government team addresses the opportunity for industry to fill or bridge that gap. In a related Step 2 workshop activity at a later date, industry is then afforded an opportunity to present their IR&D responses of relevance to AF needs addressed in this Step 1 event. This announcement is an expression of interest only and does not obligate the government in any way. Response to this request is voluntary and will not impact any future acquisitions. RESPONSE: Please respond to the AF IR&D Program Manager shown below, within 15 business days of the publication of this announcement with your intent to attend the workshop. Moreover, provide a copy of your DD Form 2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. RESTRICTIONS: These meetings are unclassified and the invitation is extended to U.S. Defense companies only. In order to attend, you must either be a DoD employee or DoD contractor with a valid DD Form 2345 for your respective defense-related business venture.
