- The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 9 Acquisition ServiceCenter, 1645 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 400, Murfreesboro, TN 37129is soliciting on behalf of the VA Medical Center, 1030 Jefferson Avenue,Memphis, TN 38104 for a contractor to provide Neurosurgery Physicianservices to veteran beneficiaries. Contractor shall provide theequivalent of one (1) qualified physician(s) to provide inpatient andoutpatient services on site in accordance with the terms and conditionsof this contract for clinical and educational activities. The surgeonbeing provided must have the background and experience to supervisestudents, residents and fellows in plastic surgery and must be boardcertified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. Thecontractor must have a physician available 24 hours per day, seven daysper week, and be capable of responding to the VA Medical Center withinten (10) minutes of being contacted. Services shall be performed inaccordance with all terms, conditions, provisions, schedules andspecifications of this solicitation. Low Risk background investigationsshall be conducted on all contractor and subcontractor personnel. Thecost of these investigations shall be borne by the contractor. Thissolicitation for commercial items will be conducted in accordance withFAR Parts 12, and in accordance with IL 90-99-4. Under the Authority ofPublic Law 1040-262 and 38 USC 8153, the Contractor agrees to provideHealth Care Resources in accordance with the terms and conditions statedin the solicitation. The contract period will be one year from the dateof award, with the Government having the option to extend the contractfor two (2) additional one-year periods. The solicitation will beissued on or before August 11, 2009, with offers due on or beforeSeptember 8, 2009 at 4:00 PM, Central Time. This procurement is issuedusing full and open competition. The North American IndustryClassification System Code (NAICS) is 621111 and the small business sizestandard is $10 Million. Hard copy solicitations will not be madeavailable. No telephone calls will be accepted. Contractors may obtaina copy of the solicitation by downloading it at the following URL:http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov using solicitation number VA-249-09-RP-0251.Contractors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining anyamendments to the solicitation.
