- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition is open to small business; the associated NAICS code is 444190 and the small business size standard is $7M. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract resulting from the combined synopsis/solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to the combined synopsis/solicitation and Description of Supplies, presents the lowest price. The Government intendst to award without discussions, but reserves the right to enter into discussions if deemed appropriate. It is expected that the award will be made on or about September 05, 2009. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, Republic, Missouri, has a requirement for the following: Contractor to provide all labor, supplies, material for the installation of 46 new exhibit case covers at the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Museum. Description of Supplies: 1.1 DESCRIPTION The work of this project shall consist of providing all labor, supplies, material for the installation of 46 new exhibit case covers at the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Museum. This work includes removal, salvage and disposal. 1.2 SUBMITTALS Submit schedule showing sequence of work. 1.3 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Keep dust and dirt pollutants to a minimum.B. Ensure safety of persons in the work area. Provide temporary barricades as required.C. Provide adequate fire protection. Keep area clear of hazardous substances and debris.D. Maintain access to exits at all times. 1.4 SCHEDULING A. Replacement covers should be cut to overall measurements off site. Trim to fit may be performed on site. PART 2.PRODUCTS A. Material used will be: 1. Polycarbonate sheeting, 1/8 inch thick, clear (no tint), UV light resistant, abrasive, mar and graffiti resistant on one side. Each cover will be drilled and counter sunk to accept a wood security screw (type to be provided by contractor-accepted by NPS) Distances between centers of screws to be no less than 12 inches and no more than 18 inches, depending on configuration of the case. Similarly sized cases will have screws attached in similar locations. Cover mounting screws will not interfere with existing trim mounting screws. D. The covers will be mounted with approved wood security screws to the existing cases. E. The following cases, will require new hardwood trim work installed. Wood trim will be cut and stained to match the existing case finish (field verification is necessary). PREPARATION A. Protect exhibits and displays from dust, breakage and theft. 3.2 WORK PERFORMANCE A. Remove and install each case cover before moving on to the next case. Covers must be in a secure condition before the work site is left each day. B. Due to the presence of sensitive museum objects in the work location, an NPS representative will be present during all on-site work. 3.3.SALVAGE A. Items to be Salvaged: NoneB. Items to be Reused: Exhibit case trim (Except cases identified in section E, above)C. Carefully clean and store items to be reused. 3.4 RESTORATION AND CLEAN-UP A. Repair and clean adjacent surfaces damaged or soiled by workB. Remove equipment, temporary barriers and debris. Dispose of unsalvageable materials. PART 4.MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT Payment will be included in the contract lump-sum price. PART 5. Performance and Delivery Contractor shall complete delivery and installation within (30) days of award. PRICE EVALUATION: Price evaluation will be based on the lowest price.
