- Description
- USDA ANNOUNCES PURCHASES OF TURKEY BREAST PRODUCTS: The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced plans to purchase turkey items to be distributed to USDA food assistance program recipients. The turkey industry continues to experience depressed market conditions, and this purchase will create a much-needed outlet for turkey breast meat items. USDA today issued Amendment No. 1 under PY-RFP-003, Request for Proposals (RFP) for turkey breast meat items. AMS will seek to remove the most product at the lowest overall cost in forms that can be utilized by recipients. A pre-proposal telephone conference will be held prior to the date proposals are due. Interested parties may obtain the call-in information by contacting the Contracting Officer. Offerors are urged to carefully read all applicable terms and conditions of PY-RFP-003, and Amendment No. 1 to ensure compliance with all program requirements. An electronic version of this Food Purchase Report, the Request for Proposal, and Amendment No. 1 will be available via the Commodity Procurement Home Page at: http://www.ams.usda.gov/PYProcurement. Inquiries may be made by telephoning (202) 720-7693 or addressing the Contracting Officer; USDA/AMS/Poultry Programs, Commodity Procurement Branch STOP 0260; 1400 Independence Ave., SW; Washington, DC 20250.
