Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Siemens Energy & Automation Inc., under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting From a Single Source, to perform a variable frequency drive-upgrade. Specifically the Contractor shall supply and install five (5) Micro-Master 440-480v Drives. The Contractor shall also remove the five (5) current drives. Installation shall include start-up and commissioning, providing an equipment data sheet for each new drive and the drive parameters. Based on Market Research NIST has not identified any other sources that can provide the required equipment and installation without voiding current equipment warranty’s and service maintenance contracts. If NIST identifies no other capable sources by August 15, 2009, NIST will issue a Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order to Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in writing no later than August 15, 2009. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
