Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office (WFO), located at Federal Facilities Building, 5301 West Hanger Road, Cleveland, OH 44135 plans to acquire a contractor capable of supplying a new access road over the existing access road. The estimated size of this project is Less than $35,000.00. DESCRIPTION: CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENT: Contractor shall register with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Vender Registration, at htp://WWW.CCR.Gov in order to process payment The Airport Manager is responsible for all Home Land Security Requirements at this location. The Contractor shall comply with all security requirements and cost associations to work at the site. The contractor shall work with the Airport Director on hours of work as well as days of work. The Contractor shall respond to issues that may not allow work to be performed due to elevated security requirements. The contractor shall work with the Airport Manager and associated staff to locate all underground utilities, above ground utilities, Buildings, landscapes and security fencing and/or gates. The Contractor shall be held responsible and to bear all costs. The contractor shall repair damages with in 2 clock hrs of any incident. CODES AND STANDARDS: A. (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), Uniform Building Code Referenced Specifications/Standards with Abbreviation and/or Acronyms: Whenever the following acronyms are used in these specifications or on the drawings, they are to be construed the same as the respective expressions represented. Copies of the referenced specifications/standards referred to herein may be procured by the Contractor, from the following: B. National Electrical Code (NFPA 70-99), National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI C2) and the NECA Standard of Installation or Local standards, whichever is more Stringent. The NEC (2006) will be followed, as applicable. C. Contractor shall follow all Federal, State and Local Codes to include Department of Transportation, (OSHA) Occupational Safety and Health regulations (e.g. 29 CFR 1910, 1926). D. GENERAL AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Excavate and dispose of existing soil and gravel properly. 2. Blueprints show the new access road, approximately 800'long and 10' wide. At the end of the access road, near ASOS site, requires 2 parking spaces approximately 21' x 24', see on blueprint for detail. Allow 30' clearance space away from existing ASOS site. 3. Excavating approximately 12" deep. Bottom ground should be compacted soil to make firm. 4. Fill in 6" gravel, then compact until firm. 5. Then fill in 4" coarse, then compact until firm. 6. Fill in 2" fine course, then compact firm with roller. 7. See section view for minor slope approximately 1 or 2 percent slope. 8. Contractors are responsible to clean up the area after construction. For any damage or problem, contact FET Technician immediately. Any business interested in this project must respond to this announcement within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice, in order to receive a copy of the Request for Quotation. The Request for Quote (RFQ) will be posted on FedBizOpps within approximately 10 calendar days and interested parties can either download the RFQ or request a copy.
