Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the acquisition of the imaging charged particledetector.Micro Channel Plate/Resistive anode encoder sensor, 40mm, 2 Micro channel plate, StandardSpatial Resolution (1:100)qty 1Install rimless-type Micro Channel Plates in place of standard solid-rim Micro ChannelPlatesqty 1Add extra electrically-isolated ring on 3300 sensorqty 1Position Analyzer: Standard analog outputqty 1Add 8-bit (256 channel) digitized output on X&Y axisqty 1Histogramming Buffer Memory: 2 MB RAM, PC/AT (2420B)compatibleqty 1Parallel input/output card for ISA-type PC bus host computer; Requires available ISA slotin host PC.qty 1Input/Output data cable, 15ft (4.5m) length for 241X-to-2420 input/output cardqty 1shipping chargesNASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Quantar Technology, Inc. pursuant to FAR13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably availablefrom only one source. This detector is unique, patented imaging device for chargedparticle detectors in the laboratory environment.It is the only commercially availableimaging detector that operates over the energy range the we require for our calibrationwork.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon August 11, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
