- THIS NOTICE IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This Sources Sought (SS) is for information and planning purposes only and is issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. The Department of the Army, Mission Installation Contracting Command, Directorate of Contracting, Fort Sill, OK (MICC) is currently requesting information in order to determine the existence of responsible sources that are interested and capable of performing the work described herein. Responses are welcomed from all interested and capable firms. This SS is not restricted to a particular socioeconomic program and/or business size. MICC, Fort Sill does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses received as a result of this SS. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this SS. As a result of this Sources Sought, MICC-Fort Sill may issue a Request for Proposal (RFP). THERE IS NO SOLICIATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. Fort Sill is seeking an archival researcher to compile information and a list of documents from the Fort Sill Museum archives related to the Comanche Mission Cemetery. The purpose of the project is to locate any and all documents in the Fort Sill Museum archives that may further the developmental history of the cemetery. Of particular interest are written descriptions or photographs of the cemetery that would identify the early conditions of the cemetery, including markers or methods of cemetery delimitation. In order to ensure adequate coverage of the topic, documents from Fort Sill's establishment in 1869 thorugh 1950's may need to be perused. Tasks: The primary task is to identify all documents related to the Comanche Mission Cemetery in the Fort Sill Museum archives, including but not limited to: 1. Correspondence or notes between the Post and the Indian Agency 2. Correspondence between the Post and the War Department 3. Correspondence or notes between the Post and the Dutch Reformed Mission Church 4. Records of the Quartermaster Corps, particularly related to the development and use of Henry Post Airfield 5. Maps of the military reservation, the Indian Agency, the Kiowa, Comanche and Apache Reservation, Indian Territory, Comanche County and/or the Lawton/ Fort Sill area Qualifications: Minimum qualifications desired to meet the standards identified below are a Graduate degree (Masters or higher) in History with a concentration in Native American History or be published on the subject matter contained in this Performance Work Statement. The following qualifications shall be met to satisfy the minimum requirements: 1. Must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualifications for a Historian. These standards are available for review in the Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR Part 61, and can be viewed on the following website: http://www.nps.gov/history/local-law/arch_stnds_9.htm. 2. Professional experience doing research under Archival Standards for preservation-related purposes. Minimum qualifications are available under website referenced above. 3. Familiarity with the history of the Kiowa, Comanche and Apache Reservation, Fort Sill and Southwest Oklahoma will satisfy any educational, concentration, or publishing requirement. Resumes documenting professional experience and education requirements are required and shall be submitted with your quote. Resumes submitted shall be limited to four pages in length.
