Description
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has received an independent proposal to perform repairs on the Carb Orchard Lake Marina, Carbondale/Marion, Illinois. FWS seeks professional engineering advisory/consultant services to complete an independent review and comments on subject proposal to include: Evaluate in general terms the benefits and liability of allowing specified parties to perform the work; include comments on the proposed work and cost estimate breakdown; and provide a brief written document for FWS use. Work will include a site visit to gather data, photograph and document site and make assessment of repair and replacement requirements on site. Analyze and review available data, assess the proposed repairs and discuss the proposal via telecom with FWS representatives. The selected firm will also furnish a subsequent report that documents the review process and project components identified in the proposal, assess the benefits and risks of the proposed approach and supply recommendations for the appropriate method of restoring the marina to operational status. The selected firm must demonstrate the most qualified professionals to include certification/ability to perform design work on marine dock construction and structural design, as well as the ability to complete thie project within 14 days. Interested vendors must submit SF330's by no later than 4:00 p.m CST, August 11, 2009. The most qualified firm will then enter into negotiations regarding scope and price.
