Description
RECOVERYThis notice is for information purposes only. This opportunity is ONLY available to the contractor listed under the National Park Service's (NPS) indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contract N1700060103. The referenced contract was a single award IDIQ contract to Roc Caivano Architects. The Architect and Engineering (A&E) firm shall provide preparation of the Design Development and Construction Documents for the following: The design and rehabilitation at Schoodic will take place on three of the existing buildings as per the descriptions below and in conformance with the approved schematic design. Rehabilitate former Navy Medical Center (also known as Research Building and Environmental College) for use as classrooms and laboratories at Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC). Building will be used by educational institution partners for semester long programs and short courses. Implement an energy efficient demonstration project by modifying the building envelope and mechanical systems and recycling construction materials. Remove interior walls and remodel to accommodate new function of laboratories, classrooms, and offices. Install wireless and wired network connections to accommodate high speed access for all students using building. Modify entrances and restrooms for full ADA compliance. Rehabilitation will include substantial energy conservation measures such as additional wall and roof insulation, improved windows, and improved heating system. Demonstration features such as solar domestic hot water heating and green roofs will be incorporated, where possible based on Value Analysis. Rehabilitate former Navy Chapel and Day Care Center buildings (SEA Hall and Dorr Hall) for use as classrooms and laboratories at Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC). Buildings are currently in use, but require changes such as removing former crying room and raised altar area from Chapel, removing unneeded kitchens, making buildings fully accessible, improving wiring and lighting, and repairing interior finishes. Rehabilitation will include substantial energy conservation measures such as additional wall and roof insulation, improved windows, improved heating system, and solar domestic hot water, where applicable.
