Description
RECOVERY ACT- the Philadelphia VA Medical Center is seeking a qualified contractor who has at 10 years experience in working on hospital boilers and controls. The work will include replacing existing DA tank and accessories with same size and and comply with notes regarding the DA Tank, remove the sink and cabinet next to the operator's office, install new motor control system for boiler plant equipment and connect to existing motor center. The new control center shall be Square D and have the capacity 20% higher than existing one. The contractor shall size the MCC back to the main feed in Building #6. The main panel and the transformer size must be checked. The contractor shall make recommendations if they need to be replaced. The equipment will be connected to the new MCC individually one at a time without disturbance to the normal operation of the boiler plant. The contractor shall remove the old MCC and install new sink and cabinet comparable size of the old one. Minimum disturbance and shut down will be allowed after working hours for the permanent feed to the new MCC. The contractor shall also replace PRV station that feed the DA tank to comply with the work statement, replace the steam coil in the York A/C unit for fresh air, replace and repair all insulations for piping and equipment to the new work with similar type and thickness and provide itemized price list for all items. The selected contractor must be High Pressure Boiler Certified and must submit for the Facility Engineer his qualifications in operating, installing and repairing controls of CB/Nebraska 35000 BTU/hr and 250 lb pressure boiler installations and operations. The contractor will perform all modification and correction to inspection punch list related to bailer controls with Cleaver Brook parts. All work must be done in strict accordance to the Statement of Work, specification and drawings provided. The NAICS (North American Industry Classification System)code is 238220. The completion time for this project is 120 calendar days. The Government's estimate is between $200,000 and $500,000. The tentative issue date for the package to be downloaded from the internet is 8-3-09. There will be only one (1) walk thru on 8-20-09 @ 10:00 am. All contractors will meet in Bldg #5- Facilities Management. All bids must be delivered to: Debra Fisher (90C), RM GC104, (Located in Bldg #1 near the Library), VA Medical Center, University & Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104, before @:00pm on 9-8-09.
