Description
The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission intends to enter into a non-competitive contract with Applied Programming Technology, Inc. (APT) to obtain contractor support for expert code design support and code development services as well as to support maintenance and training for the Symbolic Nuclear Analysis Package (SNAP). This project's purpose is to design and implement an Application Programming Interface (API) for the user-interface and the material properties and then make the API available along with a limited amount of support and training to current Agency code developers. APT’s experience with code development for the TRACE code makes them a unique source for this work. Specifically, APT, Inc. designed the Thermal-hydraulic Portable Restart (TPR) format interface code for TRACE. The TPR file is used by TRACE to save the exact state of the numerical simulation during predefined "restart" times. Its purpose is to allow a TRACE calculation to be restarted at exactly the same point in a calculation as where it left off. SNAP can read a TRACE generated TPR file and extract the exact TRACE model and relevant initial conditions. APT ensures that both TRACE and the SNAP-TRACE plug-in are always synchronized with respect to the content of the TPR data file. The period of performance will be three (3) years. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Request for copies of this solicitation will not be honored unless the respondent provides evidence showing their capability to perform the required services and the respondent has no conflict of interest with the projected activities. Inquiries regarding this announcement may be made to Mr. Michael Mills via email at Michael.Mills@nrc.gov. See numbered note 22
