- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for Two (2) EACH part #MG3694B - 40 GHz SynthesizedMicrowave Signal Generators with options 3, 4, 15B, and 28B to be used in conjunctionwith our existing Anritsu Vector Network Analyzer, Model #MS4623. The signal generatorsshall function under direct HPIB control of the #MS4623 for programming compatibility,and will function as secondary and tertiary signal sources. The generators will also beused as local oscillators and test sources for Ka band frequency converter development. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Anritsu per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) the onlysource that can provide the follow-on instruments to be used in conjunction with theexisting Vector Network Analyzer. Only the Anritsu generators will maintain the existingwarranty, and are guaranteed by the manufacturer to perform the frequency-translatedmeasurements under direct HPIB control of the #MS4623.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 8/5/2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
