Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command is hosting the annual Tactical Radio Users Conference (TRUC) August 11-13, 2009 at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, VA; and requests participation from Industry to introduce their tactical vehicular intercom systems. This is a Request For Information (RFI) only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals, and no contract will be awarded based on this RFI. The conference will be attended by tactical communication stakeholders from the Marine Corps acquisition community, supporting establishment, Operating Forces, and Industry exhibitors. In addition to the planned exhibits, the Marine Corps invites vehicle intercom manufacturers to submit responses to this RFI as part of an initial effort to define the capability requirements for a Marine Corps vehicle intercom system. Based upon the suitability and applicability of the RFI responses, the government will select as many as five manufacturers/submitters to provide capability briefings to the conference's general audience accompanied by question and answer session with users. The following list (in no particular order) of potential desired and suggested capabilities that a rugged, modular, state-of-the-art tactical vehicle intercom system might host is for guidance purposes and is not intended to be all-inclusive: ?Intercom (simultaneous, monitor, emergency, conference)?IP backbone in addition to fiber backbone (Ethernet ports with high speed interface)?VOIP connectivity?Cross band radio relay?Multiple radio management to control frequency, transmit power, squelch, mode and built-in-test (BIT) results?JITC certification?TEMPEST certification?Secure wireless capability?Modular components?Low size, weight and power (SWAP)?Modular and expandable approach to voice and data?System connects all communication assets for all users?Availability of additional features via software upgrades?Radio control for the below listed radio transmitters:oControl of other radios requires software modifications onlyoNo Maintenance or Calibration RequiredoSelectable Hot Microphone, PTT or VOXoMOPP IV and Cold Weather Gear CompatibleoRapid setup and take down with instant on capability This is not a solicitation for proposal nor obligates the government contractually in any way, but rather gives an opportunity for Industry to present the capabilities of their products and for the Marine Corps to develop an understanding of the new capabilities that exist. Vendors may choose to rent booth space to exhibit their product(s) following the process outlined in the previous TRUC Exhibitor RFI. All requests for attendance and as well as proposed briefing material must be submitted electronically to Dennis.Ivan@usmc.mil by 12:00pm (noon) Eastern Time 4 August, 2009. Vendors shall submit a capability statement not to exceed 5 pages (MS Word format) that outlines their approach to the assemblage of capabilities (taking cues from suggested capabilities listed in this announcement) that best serves the purposes of a vehicle intercom system as perceived by the vendor. Additionally, vendors shall submit briefing materials (Microsoft PowerPoint not to exceed twenty minutes briefing time) suitable to a general audience. Vendors selected to brief will be notified by email and phonecon by 4:00pm Easter Time 5 August, 2009. Vendors will not be reimbursed for any costs associated with attendance or briefing. Vendors must register for the 3rd Annual TRUC and Networking User's Conference (TriCon) through the following link: www.fredericksburgexpocenter.com/tricon.htm. The Government POCs are: Capt Dennis Ivan, Email: Dennis.Ivan@usmc.mil, 703-432-4359, and Zack Loban, Zachary.Loban@usmc.mil, 703-432-4352.
