Description
Questions and Responses for Tower Inspections, RFQ 20048394, 7/28/09. a. Is access to the towers open? Will they require an escort when doing the work? No, for all site visits they will need to have an escort, even during the work phase. b. Are there any restrictions on what time during the day they can perform – hours or days? (besides being done in 5 days per tower) For Laredo 0800-1700. For McAllen, 0700 – 1700. They will need to schedule with the COTRs if they are planning to work outside of those hours. c. Are there as built specs available that specify tensions? Yes d. Is a Dillon Shunt tensionometer acceptable? Something that provides either an analog or digital readout showing what the values are. If it has a current inspection /calibration date stamp, it should be acceptable. e. What kind of antennas are on the towers? DB224, DB616, DB230, DB436, DB438, to include 8’ microwave grids as well. f. Are there any flash tube lamps that will have to be replaced? If so, will the contractor be responsible for those as well as the incandescent ones? If the tower requirement was on the approved SOW they have to relamping. The towers use mostly incandescent bulbs; there are some strobe types as well, in the Kingsville and Laredo areas. g. Are the lighting systems monitored? I.e., are alarms monitored at a control center somewhere? Yes, at the Laredo Sector HQ, but not sure that all site lighting is monitored. McAllen is monitored also at the McAllen Annex. Quote Due Date is not changed. End.
