Description
sole source RFQ End of year buy for 50 Colbalt Blue Trainers. Must be 1:1 scale replicas of the AR-15/M16 styles riffles, that look, feel and operate like a full-functioning firearm but do not and CANNOT be made to fire live ammunition. Safety features of the Cobalt riffles must allow them to fir live ammunition and they CANNOT be modified to fire live ammunition. Barrels must be drilled with a.212 size bore and no chamber. Bolt carriers must be able to accept standard bolts. Lower receivers must not have a hammer and must have a larger hole that has been drilled so the standard hole cannot be drilled for a hammer. The trigger hole must be moved out of place making it near impossible to ever make the lawer function for live fire. The pockets of the other fire control components in the lower receivers must be absent and must be an alternate dimension. The Cobalt trainer must be an exact replica of the ar15/M16 riffle. It has to be able to be field stripped like a standard m16 riffle. Bolts must be able to be removed and stripped to simulate PMCS checks and cleaning. The buffer spring assemblies must be able to be removed. Barrels must be able to be swabbed with a cleaning rod to allow for simulated cleaning and maintenance. The Cobalt trainers must include a single rifle hard-shell case in the color of Olive drab. The riffle must also include a 30 round magazine, 1 inch nylon sling and operator manual. The buttstock, pistol grip and handguard must be colored in cobalt blue to easily identify the m16 as a training riffle. The barrel msut be 20inch heavy contour barrels with standard handguards. The A2 buttstock must have a trapdoor. The length cannot exceed 39.5 inches and cannot weigh more than 8 lbs.
