- Description
- "THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE'S DESIGN-BUILD MATOC CONTRACT." The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service contemplates entering into negotiations with one of our Design-Build MATOC contractors and to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Delivery Order for the design and construction of a new visitor center and administrative offices facility for the Red River National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Bossier City, LA. NAICS CODE 236220, Size Standard: $31 Million. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. POC for this requirement is Walter D. Cowan, CCITE Contract Specialist, at (404) 679-4068. Design and build a new Headquarters Offices and Visitor Center at the Red River NWR Headquarters Site in Bossier City, LA. The building will be approximately 9,100 SF of energy efficient conditioned space with approximately 2,000 SF of covered porch and interior seasonal "dogtrot" walkway. Schematic site, floor and roofing plans have been generated. The schematic floor plan is based on a combination of the administrative programmatic areas of the USDOI/USFWS "Suite of Facilities - Small Administration/Visitor Facility Floor Plan" and the visitor center programmatic areas of the One Story Medium Administration/Visitor Facility Floor Plan". The facility will be LEED certified to the highest level practicable and will include water-saving elements i.e. rainwater harvesting, low-flow fixtures and grey water reuse. The facility will be very energy efficient and will reduce, by a minimum of 30%, the average energy costs of a building of its size. In addition, our goal is for at least 40% of the facilities energy needs to come from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
