Description
The Asheville VAMC, NC is pre-soliciting qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses in construction to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and supervision to Renovate 4 West at the Asheville VAMC, NC. All work shall be completed within 360 days after notice to proceed, which includes 60 days allowance for submittals. The NAICS code is 236220; small business size is $33.5M. The estimated dollar amount of this procurement is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Expect the solicitation to be posted with uploaded drawings and specifications on/or about 13 Aug 09. No hard copies provided. Pre-bid/walk-through is scheduled for 19 Aug 09 at 1000hrs, only one will be offered at the same time to all interested parties and will be at bldg. 15, 3rd floor, rm 330. Bid opening will be on/or about 14 Sep 09 and the deadline for receipt of questions is 10 days prior. Firms must be registered at Central Contractor Registry and at Vet Biz and Online Representations and Certifications must be completed by each bidder prior to the bid opening. Specifics on the project are as follows: This project will consist of renovating space on the existing Ward 4 West. Project involves approximately 10,000 gross square feet of renovation. Work will include (but not limited to) demolition of existing walls and finishes such as vinyl composition flooring, carpet, wall paper, acoustic ceiling tile and grid, lighting, electrical power, plumbing, HVAC, and sheetrock/metal stud walls. New work includes (but is not limited to) installing new sheetrock/metal stud walls, new flooring, sanding and painting walls, new acoustic ceiling tile and grid, new millwork, new HVAC air-handling system, HVAC testing/balancing, new lights, new power, new signal, new nurse call system, patient room lifts, plumbing systems for bathrooms and HVAC, and new medical gas piping installation. Disciplines include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC mechanical, along with some specialty trades. All work will be in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications. Work will take place on a vacant ward with operational Ward 5 West above and Ward 3 West below. Some work will need to be accomplished in phases as described in the design documents. Design and construction will be of a nature that deals with the security, privacy, and safety requirements of an inpatient veteran.
