- The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, is issuing this special notice to inform industry of the intent to solicit and negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a single source) with Knight Construction & Supply Company, 28308 North Cedar Road, Deer Park, WA 99006. A determination not to compete this proposed contract has been made Pursuant to 41 U.S. C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by 6.302-1, this requirement has been justified and approved in accordance with FAR 13.5. The purpose of this contract acquisition is for Knight Construction Company to complete follow-on work associated with previous warranty repairs made to auxiliary water supply pump #3 at Ice Harbor Lock and Dam. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The government intends to acquire a commercial service using FAR Part 12. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment and plant, and perform all work necessary to allow for partial disassembly of the gear reducer for Ice Harbor NS AWS Pump #3. In performing this work, the contractor shall comply with the original plans, specs, and approved procedures detailed in their base contract, W912EF-07-P-0213 to maintain critical alignment tolerances for the pump components. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811310. The Small Business size standard for this NAICS code is $7.0 million. This notice of intent is not a formal solicitation or request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities no later than 11:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on August 10, 2009.
