- RECOVERY--The Philadelphia District intends to initiate a Request for Quote (RFQ) procurement for the removal of dilapidated timber jetty located within Cedar Creek at the confluence of the Mispillion River in Slaughter Beach, DE. This project entails investigation via diving, removal and disposal of the remains of the old south jetty in accordance with the specifications in the Scope of Work The former Mispillion Inlet South Jetty is located at the confluence of Cedar Creek and the Mispillion Rivers near the old Mispillion Light in Delaware. The 80-plus year old structure is approximately 1100 feet in length. The wooden structure consists of timber piles and timber cross members. Some of the timber piles are only visible at low water. During higher tide stages the structure is not visible resulting in a serious safety hazard to boating traffic. RFQ No. W912BU-09-T-0056 will be available on or about 29 Jul 2009. Hard copies will not be available and written or fax requests will not be accepted. Contractors may download the solicitation (including any drawings) and any amendments via the FedBizOpps web site, www.fbo.gov, on (or after) the issue date. The official media of distribution for the RFQ is the Web. All amendments to the RFQ will be posted to the FedBizOpps web site. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps web site for any amendments. Interested firms must register at FedBizOpps in order to access the solicitation. Offerors are responsible for printing copies of the RFQ and any amendments. Quotes will be due on, or about, 12 Aug 2009. The NAICS code is 237990 and the size standard is $33.5 Millions. Liquidated damages will apply. All contractors are required to be registered in the DOD Central Contract Registry before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
