- Description
- NASA/NSSC has a requirement for a course entitled Computational Methods inAeroelasticity. The objective of the training is to provide an introduction tonumerical methods used in aeroelasticity in using MSC-NASTRAN.This training willprovide learners with a specialized training with focus on applicability to NASA. Thevendor shall be responsible for providing all training materials. The vendor shallconduct one three-day training to cover finite element method for simulating structuraldynamics, interpolation methods for transferring mode shapes from structural mesh toaerodynamic mesh, doublet lattice method used in unsteady aerodynamics, methods forreduction the order of computation models when using more computationally intensivemethods for solving full potential or Navier-Strokes equations. Training shall be heldat NASAs Langley Research Center September 14-16, 2009.NASA/NSSC intends to purchase the training course from American Institute of Aeronauticsand Astronautics, Inc, 1801 Alexander Bell Dr Ste 500, Reston, VA 20191-5467.Pursuantto FAR 13.106, the acquisition of these services has been determined to be reasonablyavailable from only one source. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon August 11, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, whichshall be considered by the agency.Capabilities and qualifications should be submitted to Megan Willis atMegan.M.Willis@nasa.gov.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
