Description
The USDA Forest Service, Kootenai National Forest, intends to acquire by contract the paving of approaches to 49 bridges across the Kootenai National Forest with approx 2450 tons of hot asphalt concrete. The project consists of paving approaches 50 feet on each side of various bridges to reduce sedimentation to streams. The project location is throughout the Kootenai National Forest in Montana. The Forest Service intends to issue a solicitation for this project utilizing FAR Part 14 procedures for sealed bidding. This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for HUBzone Business concerns. A single firm-fixed price type contract will be awarded to the responsible Bidder (IAW FAR Part 9, Contractor Qualifications) whose bid is of the lowest total price that meets the technical requirements outlined in the solicitation. Payment Protection will be required for this project and Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply to any resulting contract. This solicitation will be available on or about August 10, 2009. The period of performance for this project will be from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed to be completed by 30 September 2010; Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued on or about September 15, 2009. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the bidder will render a bidder ineligible for award. Bidders may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov//.
