- Description
- Cargo and Personnel Movement. The Contractor shall provide a rotary wing aircraft equipped with removable and/or foldable passenger seating which provides seating with seat belts for up to eight passengers. The helicopter must also have the capacity of transporting on each flight any combination of passenger(s) and/or cargo totaling a payload of 1,450 pounds; i.e. four passengers weighing 800 pounds and tools and equipment weighing 650 pounds. The aircraft shall be capable of transporting the total payload a range of 150 GCSM nonstop under IFR conditions. Rotary-wing air transportation services to 47 North Warning System (NWS) radar sites across the Canadian Arctic. Provide supplemental helicopter passenger and cargo air transportation services to North Warning System Long Range Radar (LRR) and Short Range Radar (SRR) sites within Canada. The LRR and SRR sites are the Western Artic Area, Inuvik (Zone #1), the Cambridge Bay (Zone # 2), a portion of Iqaluit area (Zone # 4), the Eastern Artic Area, Goose Bay (Zone # 5) and a portion of Iqaluit area (all BAF sites) on an “as required” basis. The primary period of operation for this service is 15 June through 15 September of each year. The actual performance date depends on the scheduling, weather and other uncontrollable events. For the primary period of operations, the contractor must be available to provide service on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis.
