Description
This is a solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract for the "Building 100 7th Floor Patient Safety" at the Seattle Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The VA is seeking a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. The proposed work will on the Building 100 7th floor east and west wards and will broadly encompass the following: replace and upgrade the existing suspended ceiling; remove and replace door hinges; upgrade lighting fixtures; remove and replace sprinkler heads, construct a ward sally-port and make improvements to the nursing station. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: demolition, impact on existing HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler, and telecommunication systems and limited various interior finishes. The work will have multiple phases. There will be a pre-bid site inspection August 12, 2009 at 10 AM in Building 18; Room 111f, 1660 South Columbian Way, Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division, Seattle, WA 98108. The construction cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. Contract completion time will be 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This procurement will be a sealed bid competition with a 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The NAICS classification is 236220. The small business size standard is $33.5 million average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a August 3, 2008. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the VA Business Opportunities System website, Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit the VA website periodically to look for any updates. Bid opening date will be September 3, 2009 at 2 PM in Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division; Building 18; Room 111f, 1660 South Columbian Way, Seattle, WA 98108.
