Description
Scope of Work Road Resurfacing and Sidewalk Replacement 2009 Road Resurfacing Bldg 3 to Bldg 36 All areas marked on the drawings to be resurfaced as follows Mill Asphalt down a minimum of 2-1/2", Remove and re-compact any areas of non-stable Asphalt prior to the spreading of Oil priming sealer/bonding agent, All Areas where Milled Asphalt meets non-disturbed Asphalt a saw cut shall be made and material shall be removed to create a straight line where new Asphalt meets old. Minimum depth removed at transition shall be 2-1/2" as well. Install new Asphalt in two lifts Sidewalk removal and Replacement All areas marked on the drawings to be removed and replaced as follows. Remove existing concrete sidewalk taking care to not damage surrounding grassy areas. Provide at least 4" of compacted gravel base were necessary. Install expansion joint material at all areas where new sidewalk meets curbing or building foundations. Form new sidewalk to meet all existing elevations of sidewalks or curbs so as to provide a minimum 4" thick sidewalk. Provide a broom finish to all concrete with hand troweled joints and edges. Provide control joints every 5-6' to match existing sidewalk areas. Provide expansion joints every 25' as necessary depending on length on new sidewalk. Upon removal of forms areas to be backfilled with clean top soil and seeded. Contractor shall provide watering for the first two weeks to allow for germination of new seed. Areas of new sidewalk shall be excavated to a depth to allow for a 4" compacted gravel base and 4" of new concrete. New sidewalk elevation to match existing grade and be a minimum of 5' wide. There is also an area that will require curb cuts and grinding of the curb to be flush with the roadway. This area will require new concrete sidewalk as per above. Catch Basin Replacement Remove and replace Catch Basin covers and inlets at locations shown on drawing and during Scope Validation meeting
