- RECOVERY--RECOVERY - The contractor will be required to remove existing brake thrusters, asbestos brake pads, and dispose; then install new brake thrusters, non-asbestos brake shoes, and conduct brake performance testing on twenty-one (21) spillway gates. The work involved will consist of working outside on the spillway catwalk below the spillway bridge, disassembling, removing and disposing the existing brake shoes, cleaning the drum, installing new brake thrusters and non-asbestos brake shoes, and conducting brake performance testing on all twenty-one (21) spillway gates.
