Description
The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award under FAR Part 13.5 Test Program to Geometrics Inc. in San Jose, CA for Eight Channel Digital Seismic Streamer System to be delivered to USGS, Woods Hole Coastal & Marines Science Center by November 23, 2009. There are no option periods for this requirement. Geometrics, Inc. is the only known source that can meet the minimum technical requirements. Minimum Technical Specifications for the purchase of an 8 channel digital seismic hydrophone system The following are the minimal acceptable technical specifications for a multichannel seismic hydrophone streamer system.This system will include the at least the following components.Streamer tow cableVibration isolation sectionAnalog to Digital digitizer moduleActive hydrophone sectionStreamer power supply unitDeck cableAll components necessary to control acquire and monitor digital seismic data. 1)Streamer tow cable: 2)Vibration isolation section: 3)Analog to Digital digitizer module: The module must be fully configurable from the shipboard controller. The module must allow for the setting of digitizer sample rates of 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1.0, 2.0, and 4 millisecond. Must also provide the ability set fixed amplifier gains from 0 dB to 36 dB in 12 dB steps. Module must also have the capability of built in tests of the module, cabling and hydrophones.4)Active hydrophone section: This 25 meter section will contain at least 8 channel, 3.125 meter group interval, 4 hydrophones per group. A compass/bird coil must be built into the head of the module.5)Streamer power supply unit: This unit provides all the necessary voltages to the digitizer module and communication interface. 6)Deck cable: The cable connects the seismic recording equipment with the Streamer tow cable. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). FAX response to 703.648.7367 or email to: abenton@usgs.gov.
