Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Request for Quote (RFQ). A set aside for small business has been waived for this requirement. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the procurement is 334516 and the Small Business size standard is 500 employees. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center Contracting Office, has a requirement for a Laser Particle Size Analyzer. System Specifications for Laser particle size analyzer The sensing range for the wet module is 02000 Microns. The volume of the flow through cell must be variable to allow for small concentrations in order to maintain the obscurance percentage. The optics must be mounted on a single solid base to maintain alignment and minimize the realignment process. The servicing of the instrument must be accomplished with simple tools and parts available at local suppliers instead of requiring specialized parts and technicians to come to our site and repair the meter. The instrument must have a least a minimum of 100 size classes in the sensing range. Full computer control of the stirrer and pump speeds is a requirement to give maximum performance. The software must export the files in standard windows file formats to allow for integration into reports and presentation documents. The software must be customizable by the user to allow for project specific report formats to be generated. A five year parts and labor warranty must be given to support this instrument. All interested firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration. The Government will award a contract resulting from this synopsis/solicitation to the responsible lowest price offeror whose offer meets and/or exceeds the specification herein.
