Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aerospace Medical Certification Division, AAM-300 has a need to acquire a cardiologist to provide consultant services in support of an ongoing effort of interpreting and recording digital electrocardiograms received from First Class Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs). The FAA Aerospace Medical Certification Division ensures that the U.S. pilot population and the general public are safe from aircraft accidents that could be the result of pilot medical problems. The FAA requires first-class pilots to have electrocardiograms (ECGs) at designated intervals. Currently, AAM-300 maintains records of approximately 475,000 civilian pilot certification applications and processes over 68,000 ECG's annually. The FAA contemplates award of a labor hour type contract for a 1-year period. All interested sources are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received from industry in response to this Screening Information Request (SIR), Request for Proposal (RFP). Therefore, any costs associated with vendor's Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
