Description
The APHIS-PPQ-CPHST light brown apple moth methods development unit requires three environmental control chambers for insect rearing and cold tolerance testing. 2ea for Moss Landing, CA Facility 1ea for Phoenix, AZ Facility For the purpose of research on control methods needed in the Light Brown Apple moth emergency eradication program. The required features include precision light and temperature controls, with an advanced temperature programming control system that allows a biological significant ramp up feature to closely mimic actual temperature changes in spring-winter freeze thaw cycles in Northern unites states apple growing regions at risk to LBAM infestation, a capacity of 0.23 m3 in volume, a range of close temperature tolerances of 2- 44 C (+/- 0.5 degrees C) with extended range down to -10 C (for the two Moss Landing units) and to 0 degrees C (for the Phoenix unit), insect proof pre-filter screens and insect resistant condenser coils that can withstand the corrosion caused by insect parts, scales and frass, and a stacking feature. Interested sources that are capable of providing the equivalent supply listed above are encouraged to submit statements of capability to the contracting office. Small Business concerns are encouraged to participate. This is not a request for competitive proposals, but instead a market research method to determine interested sources. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. Please provide Tax I.D. Number, Duns Number, point of contact information, past performance and references regarding your ability to provide this item and or service along with your Statement of Capability. The Government will not award a contract based on the information received, nor reimburse participants for information they provide. Information provided is strictly voluntary.
