- The U.S. Forest Service has a requirement for repair of the Spruce Knob Lake Fishing Access. The work includes providing all labor, equipment, materials and mobilization necessary to repair 475 feet of lake-side log retaining wall, including excavation, backfill, installation of geotextile and aggregate surfacing. The project also includes resetting three wooden benches and one retaining wall post. GOVERNMENT COST ESTIMATE: Between $25,000 and $100,000 DIRECTIONS TO SITE: The worksite is located within the boundaries of the Potomac Ranger District, Monongahela National Forest, in Randolph County, West Virginia. From Elkins proceed 35 miles east on U.S. 33 to the intersection of WV 55 North. Make a right turn and proceed 9.9 miles on US 33 East to Riverton, WV. Make a right turn onto Briery Gap Road CR 33/4 and proceed 2.5 miles to Forest Road 112. Continue on FR 112 approximately 8.5 miles to Forest Road 1 and continue ¾ miles to Spruce Knob Lake Trailhead parking located near the boat launch. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Contract time will be 365 calendar days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS: Contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration prior to award of a contract. Registration may be completed on the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. SET-ASIDE: This project is 100% set aside for small business. BONDING INFORMATION: Contractor will be required to furnish 100% Payment Protection in the form of a payment bond or an irrevocable letter of credit to the USDA, Forest Service within 10 calendar days of the date it receives the notice of award. No bid guarantee is required. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS: Solicitation AG-3434-S-09-0014 and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps as a Request for Quotations and will be available for downloading on or around July 31, 2009 at the website address: http://www.fbo.gov. All potential contractors should register on the FedBizOpps website as an Interested Vendor.
