Description
Specifications for Fabrication of GELBERMAN Keel Cooler I.GENERAL Fabrication of (2) Keelcoolers and associated parts, the keel coolers should be similar or equal to the Fernstrum gridcoolers described in paragraph 1 below. The price quoted to include delivery to Caven Point, Jersey City 07305. II. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1. Provide two (2) copper-nickel Keelcooler for the vessel GELBERMAN similar or equal to Fernstrum model D16132. The Keelcoolers must fit the existing hull openings. The dimensions are as follows: Pipe diameter inlet: 3.5 inches Pipe diameter outlet: 3.5 inches Overall length: 139 1/4 inches Overall width: 14 9/16 inches Distance from center of outlet to center of inlet: 132 inches III. FABRICATION DETAILS 1.The contractor shall fabricate (2) Keel Coolers: a.To obtain a proper bond, each piece of the keel cooler assembly shall be degreased and sandblasted before assembly. b.Each unit shall be soaked and flushed out at high temperatures during each interval of manufacture. c.After being soaked and flushed, each unit shall be inspected by running it through a separate underwater air test assure the integrity of braised or welded joints. d.Maximum test pressure of 35psi. e.Ultra-sonic testing shall be used to check the brazed joints of each unit to assure that keel coolers are of adequate strength. f.In all respects, the each unit must be square and true.
