Description
RECOVERY -- GRAVIMETERSThe Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has a requirement for two gravimeters for delivery to the Hawaii Volcano Observatory, Hawaii National Park, HI. The minimum required specifications for gravimeters are as follows: electrostatic nulling, resolution should be better than 1 microgal, automatic tilt meter compensation, able to withstand large accelerations (e.g. 10G) that may occur during meter transport via car or helicopter, without major tares, data corrected for tides in real-time, corrected data should be displayed, include GPS to determine position for real time tide correction, meter should weigh no more than 20 lbs. (to ensure ease of use during field campaigns that are unsupported by helicopter or car), should include accessories such as power supply, batteries, leveling base, battery charger, transport case, and data processing and visualization software. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. The procurement required delivery date is anticipated to be 45 days after award of the contract. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 27 July 2009. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time. This requirement is being issued as a total small business set-aside opportunity. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334513 and the size standard is 500 employees. There is not an incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
