Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with FN Herstal, S.A. for a firm-fixed price contract for the procurement of: (a) periodic replacement parts (PRP) kits and other materials necessary for the maintenance and repair of the GAU-21 weapon system; (b) tooling for the repair and maintenance of the GAU-21 weapon system; (c) armorer and operator kits for the GAU-21 weapon system; and (d) engineering and logistics services necessary for the fielding, operation, maintenance, training and repair of the GAU-21 weapon system. This requirement is for FMS Canada case number CN-P-DAE. Unless otherwise stated herein, no formal request for proposal or additional written information is currently available. Request for same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis is published for information purposes only. (THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS). FN Herstal is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the GAU-21 machine gun, and as such, is the only known source available with the requisite technical knowledge, experience and tooling to produce the requirements described herein, in order to satisfy the government’s requirement. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for the supplies anticipated needed herein is 332995. IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERESTED PARTIES: There are no commitments by the government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract modification for the efforts mentioned above.
