- This is a Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only. This is not a Request For Quote. The Air Force Flight Test Center located at Edwards AFB, CA is seeking vendors capable of providing a Brand Name or Equal Product, C2R-001A Highly Ruggedized Time, Space and Position Information (TSPI) System, produced by MicroBee Systems, Inc. These devices will be used for the Joint Strike Fighter(JSF) aircraft programs at Edwards AFB. The system measures the position, velocity and attitude of the aircraft.The following describes this requirement: Requirement: C2R-001A Highly Ruggedized Time, Space and Position Information (TSPI) System. The C2R-001A is a PC/104 based system in ruggedized enclosure capable of use in virtually any environment. This system will be used for flight test operations and customized to requirements. C2R-001A Highly Ruggedized Time, Space and Position Information (TSPI) System - Salient Characteristics: • Enclosure: Anodized Aluminum, dual sealed with EMI and Environmental seals. • Glenair Series 80 MIL connectors, nickel plated, protective caps. • HDD Activity LED, Power LED and 3 User LED, Red Green Bi Color. • 1GHz Celeron Processor; 1Gb RAM, Video, KYB. • Dual Compact Flash • 75 Watt Power Supply; 8-36 VDC; Overvoltage Protected, Short Circuit Protected. • MIL-461 CE102 compliant. • Novatel OEMV-2 L1L2 GPS with operation up to 921kbs. • Dual SDLC/Sync/Asynch RS-422 Serial IO up to 10 Mbs • Dual RS-422 up to 921.6 kbs • 8 Optically Isolated Inputs with the capability of generating interrupts. • 8 Optically Isolated Outputs • Honeywell HG1700-AG58 and communications interface; Time Tagged to GPS with 100pS resolution; Interrupt generation on Data read; 1PPS Interrupt generation; Software configured. • Environmental Compliance: • EMI/EMC MIL-STD-461; ESD; Humidity; Salt Spray; Thermal -40 to +85C • Altitude to 50000 feet (operating); Explosive Atmosphere; Vibration 5.7 Grms, 8 hours per axis, 3 axis.; Crash Shock Safety, 40g.; Jet wake, carrier landing; Sonic Exposure to 146dB for 1 hour. Ship Date: 1st Mockup 2 WARO and other items 6 - 8 WARO. FOB: Destination Edwards AFB CA 93524. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the same product or equivalent, listed above. Firms responding to this notice must identify their company's capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the number and indicate whether or not that they are a small business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 334220. The Small Business size standard is 750. The information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this Sources Sought synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in Aug 2009.
