Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Digilab Genomic Solutions, 84 October Hill Road, Holliston, MA 01746 for an OmniGrid Micro 110V Base System. This is a microarraying system designed for producing microarrays on glass slides which utilizes a pin array transfer head for crating high-density arrays used for functional genomics or proteomic research. The pin array head dips into a source plate (e.g. 96 or 384 well plate) and spots the sampled solution onto a sold surface (e.g. glass slide, silicon substrate). In touching the surface with the pin, a given volume of sample is deposited onto the surface. Unit will be used for developing a microarray based subtyping method for Clostridium botulinum, and will be used to identify differences in the presence or absence of genomic regions that permit discrimination among strains of c. Botulinum. Required are the following: X-Y Table Speed 175 mm/second. Cycle time (dip, spot on 11 slides, wash) 40 seconds. Pin type solid or split. Stepper motor resolution 1.3 um. Repeatablilty < plus or minus 10 um with 95% confidence. Due to laboratory constraints, unit must be less or equal to dimensions of 605mm x 355 mm x 380 mm. Unit includes a vaccuum pump and chassis or anti-vibration table with compatible computer. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Linda M. Young.
