- Conservation Project Arlington National Cemetery, VA is seeking an approved conservator for historic stone/brick with bronze/copper plaques artifacts. The Conservator must meet the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) criteria in order to perform the work. Copper/Bronze artifacts require examination, cleaning, stabilization, coatings, packing & mounting, and desalination & solution monitoring. Contractor must supply all materials, transportation and supervision. Contractor will be responsible for all waste disposals. Photographs and a record of the treatment process must be submitted for archival verification as property of the US Government. Due to the environmental, security, and transportation concerns for these items, shipping, handling, delivery, accountability, and protection of these artifacts are absolutely critical, as items are fragile and must not be lost, stolen, or damaged. Description of Information Requested The purpose of this RFI is to solicit information from companies who can successfully satisfy this requirement. Companies are expected to submit a capability package that includes the following: 1. Companys size and location 2. Proof of meeting the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) criteria 3. Past performance information: Have you performed this service in the past? If so, for whom? What is your level of expertise? 4. Standards for transporting, identifying, handling and protecting artifacts Disclaimer It is not the US Governments intent to publicly disclose vendor proprietary information obtained during this solicitation. To the full extent that it is protected pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act and other laws and regulations, information identified by a respondent as Proprietary or Confidential will be kept confidential. It is emphasized that this RFI is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
