- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to share questions and answer from vendors and the NIST End-User regarding the De-Ionized (DI) Water System SB1341-09-RQ-0343: 1st Vendor’s Questions: 1 - Can a site visit be scheduled in order to see the current setup and space / utilities available where the new system is going? Requests for visitation can be arranged for those Contractors who are seriously considering fulfilling this request. In accordance, the Contractor must submit documentation demonstrating their proposed DI water system can meet the minimum system requirements prior to arranging a visitation. 2 - The existing system demolition and removal is not specified in this solicitation. Will it be performed by NIST personnel? The old, inoperable DI water system is not located in the space where the new system will be place. Therefore, Removal and Disposal of the old DI water system is NOT included in the quotation. Such operations will be handled by NIST at a later date. 3 - What is the existing building automation system protocol that you are using that the new system will hook into to provide remote monitoring and alarm capabilities? (MOD bus. BACnet, LON, etc} We are NOT looking to hook into the Building Alarm system. The Remote monitoring/alarm system should be, at minimum, an integrated I/O system that is present in the DI water system. The I/O system should interface directly with a basic PC computer system or IP. The alarms should be easily programmed to send, at least, e-mail alerts to the monitoring parties. The system should be able to be queried to send minor reports on such attributes as water quality, cartridge quality (if applicable), etc. 2nd Vendor’s question: 1 - Can we get a water analysis to determine the special needs for pretreatment before the key water purification equipment? The Water supply is Gaithersburg City Tap water, which is handled by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. Water quality information is posted here: http://www.wsscwater.com/info/QandA.cfm 3rd Vendor question: As per this solicitation the request is for the system line items only. Does the RFQ require removal, installation and commissioning start-up also? The request DOES NOT require the Contractor to remove the old DI water service unit. The request DOES require the installation of the DI water system pending the properly supplied connections provided by the NIST Plant Division. The entire quotation should include the cost of the DI water unit and all commissioning/services fees.
