- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for additional equipment for the Romulus IV mechanicalstrength testing system. The requirements consist of (1) each PN 108200 Stylometer, (1)each PN 108096 Spare Stylometer Stylus, and (1) each PN 108099 Set of 3 Styli.NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from the Quad Group (Spokane, WA) per FAR13.106-1(b)(1) Only one source can provide the compatible platform and equipment with theexisting system. Using incompatible units on the testing system may result in damage toequipment, the research lab, and lab personnel. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon July 8, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
